A brief history about the Rolex Lady Datejust:
The Rolex Datejust was first included in the Rolex collection in 1945 to celebrate Rolex's 40th anniversary. This made the Rolex Datejust the first automatic self-winding wristwatch that could simultaneously read the date at the 3 o'clock position of the dial, while at midnight the date would automatically jump to the next day. We all know the Rolex Datejust with the famous and beloved Jubilee bracelet, which of course gets its name from Rolex's 40th anniversary when this model was released. Now we've talked about the 36-mm model, but the female model had to wait a while. The first female model of the Rolex Datejust first appeared on the market in 1957 and has remained in Rolex's collection ever since, but the 26-mm model is no longer produced.
Now, the first Rolex Datejust the reference 4467, was made only in 18K yellow gold, which lasted until the 1950s. Nowadays, we know the Rolex in many different examples; think of the two-toned models, the models with the Oyster band, as well as the smooth bezel and the engine-turned bezel, which is no longer released.
