A brief history about the Rolex Lady Date:

Of course, we all know the Rolex Datejust, but then we can't forget its smaller brother, The Rolex Date. In the 1950s, Rolex released the Oyster Perpetual Date. The watch, like the Datejust, had a date display and a Cyclops, but the Oyster perpetual date was one size smaller, In 34 mm instead of 36 mm, which is why it is the “smaller brother” of the Rolex Datejust. In the 1960s, Rolex came out with the Oyster Perpetual for women, with a size of 26mm.

In the mid-2000s, Rolex chose to drop the 26mm Lady Date, and it was no longer produced. The larger 34mm model did continue to be made, but was also removed from production in 2021.
